| Marés Vivas (PT), 17.07.2009 |
 |
In the afternoon of March 19th Contra Promotion (the booking agency of the Apes) added Marés Vivas Festival to the list of Summer festival dates.
Place & Date:
Marés Vivas Festival takes place in Vila Nova de Gaia, from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th July 2009.
Guano Apes are the first confirmed band and they are playing on Friday 17th.
Tickets & Costs:
1 Day = 25 €
3 Days = 38 €
To visualize the location:
Gaia/Porto is in the north of Portugal and there is an international airport
(with low-cost companies such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Air Berlin etc) near the city, which is perfect for everyone who wants to go there.

Vila Nova de Gaia is just across the river from Porto (Douro).

Some travel information:
By plane:
You can post your airport of departure and we'll try to help you getting a good & cheap flight connection!
You can get a metro connection from the airport to the center of the city (Airport » Porto Campanhã)
and then you just need to get a train for 1 station to General Torres
By train:
By Alfa Pendular (fast train if you come from Lisbon), step out at the Vila Nova de Gaia (Devesas) station and get a special bus to the festival.
By normal (slow) train step off at General Torres and get a special bus to the festival.
By bus:
Espírito Santo buses connect from “Casa da Música”, Porto downtown, to the festival area.
Things you should know about Marés Vivas:
- Guano Apes already played at Marés Vivas festival back in 2001 when it was still free (!)
- 2009 is the festival’s 7th edition
- Guano Apes are the first band to be confirmed and it is likely that they will headline the festival

Just a tip about metro connections, there's no need to even get out on Porto downtown (for those who come by plane and get the metro at the airport), you just need do exchange from violet line to yellow one in Trindade station, and then 4 or 5 stops and you are in Gaia center, and from there is a bus to the festival. About camping I was told that last year it existed, I'll post any infos as soon as I know more. Any other stuff feel free to ask!

I hope I'll graduate that day. They could play it instead of Gaudeamus Igitur at least...

Well, I'm very excited with this concert. I would love to go, but first I want to ensure good means of transport. And the language... I don't speak Portuguese
It will be my first concert that I go alone. I hope everything works!

Isn't it for the very first time the two best bands from the Hannover Area will play on the same day and same stage? I wonder which of them will headline the show
