After some secretiveness ("headliner is a band that will announce their comeback on European Summer festivals soon")
and a confirmation of the Pragokoncert agency / mastersofrock.cz, the official site of Benátská Noc revealed the details on 25th February:
Guano Apes will headline their festival!


To get an overview:

Guano Bat DATE: Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July 2009
_______--Guano Apes are headliner on Saturday, July 25th.

Guano Bat PLACE: Malá Skála (Liberecký kraj = Liberec region), Czech Republic


Guano Bat COSTS: 2-day passes: 830,- Kc = 30,75 €
________--1-day passes: 480,- Kc = 17,80 €
________--Sunday 26th is free for all ticket holders!
________--(prices are valid until March 31st)

Guano Bat MAPS:

The Liberec region is in the North of Czech Republik and borders on Poland and Germany.


Malá Skála is about 100 km away from Prague.

By train: There are good connections from Prague central station: a train runs directly to Malá Skála every 2 hours (duration 2 h). LINK

There's a mistake; the Czech word for Venice is "Benátky".

Benátská/Benátský/Benátské (adjective!!!) = Venetian, different versions are because of declension according to noun

Last year there was a tent on the right side of the main stage (next to the backstage entrance) where signing sessions took place. But dunno anything about time when GA will have their session...

Don't go by bus... Most of them leave from suburb and don't have aircon. Only good bus is at 8:40 from central bus station. Trains aren't comfortable, will be hot in summer, in festival time really crowded, but still better option Big Grin Don't buy tickets online, it's only for fixed departues. Tickets bought at the station can be used for all train.

ahhhhh, memories! long trips in crowded buses with no aircon in czech republic Smile those were the days!!

but yeh, don't use them. they're not confortable and they're very far from the center (like last metro stop if i recall it right)

Frequent travellers know which company and time to use, but to come to station and just go by first bus can be hell in this extremely hot summer like today here Roll Eyes

The exhausting and stressy journey was totally worth it!

To be honest, I was going to Benátská Noc 2009 just because of Guano Apes.

And to be honest again, it was really worth it !! Truly AMAZING SHOW, thank you !!! Wink I really enjoyed it and hope to see Guano destroying crowds in Czech republic again Wink (or Slovak republic, please Smile


Though I was a little bit disenchanted by manner of some of the Guano "fans" ... More precisely I mean the one showing his middle finger towards the stage after Sandra waved a non-Czech flag. Okey, it might have been a little disappointing moment for a "hardcore Czech nationalist", but showing a middle finger on both hands for 15-20 minutes ?? Roll Eyes Mad I hope it haven't affected Sandras "promise" to come back to Czech rep. again Smile


Oh and so much people on the signing session, I rather decided to keep watching the whole session from the left side Smile (greetings to Dennis Smile
